Scripture: John 15:9-17

Because He Lives, we are blessed exceedingly abundantly more than we could ever imagine, because of the Father’s love for us!

Abide in His Love (v.9-12)

• The good fruit Jesus spoke of in previous passages is love
• We must keep His commands to abide in His love
• Abiding in His love leads to fullness of joy

We Are Friends of Jesus (v.13-15)

• Jesus calls His disciples friends
• Φιλοσ  (fee-los) – loved, devoted, close friend
• Jesus has a deep love for His friends!

Jesus Chose Us (v.16-17)

• The basis of this friend relationship is not of man’s merit or working.
• “Man’s response is based upon God’s choice. Before we chose Him, God had already chosen us. In Christ, God has chosen man to a life of holiness.”
• We must accept His love and the call to “Follow me.”

Because He Lives, we are blessed exceedingly abundantly more than we could ever imagine, because of the Father’s love for us! It truly is a blessing to abide in Jesus’ love. We become witnesses of His amazing love and we are considered His friend.
